A Brief Tip Of The Cap To Steve Springthorpe

The women's soccer team knocked off Clemson on Thursday to earn its second conference win of the season:

NC State is off to its best start in league play since 2002 and it’s exactly where Springthorpe wants to be.

"It’s a good place. We haven’t been 2-1 in a while and a lot of firsts are happening and that’s great," Springthorpe said. "The kids are really excited about our start, but we need to just keep playing hard."

The two teams the Pack has beaten, Virginia and Clemson, beat the Pack by a combined score of 9-0 last season.  NC State has four goals in three conference games, which is as many as it scored in 10 conference games last year.
