Here's To Another Week Of Being Mostly Dead

Good Day To You Too, Sir

Hi, Darrell!

Willie Stretch

Can Willie play basketball?

Game Over

Mike Lemon comes up huge.  Game over.

Whew.  Sleep deprivation, beer, mildly painful near-death in the margins experience ... I'm exhausted.  Though that hasn't stopped me from thinking about those two interesting 4th down calls by TOB almost non-stop since the game ended.  Thoughts on those decisions and the rest of the game tomorrow.

So halfway through the game...

… with complaints, moans, and groans continually emanating from my mouth, the wife asks, “so you really enjoy this?”.

I said yes… but I’m not sure “enjoy” is the right word. It’s cathartic… a source for venting all of life’s frustrations… and by the time the game was over, she clearly understood why we’ve become so cynical.

This is not a normal football team. We, by all rights, should’ve won by 25 yesterday. We stomped Maryland’s asses up and down the field. But we are incapable of just putting our foot on the opponent’s throat and BEATING them. We make everything hard… we do everything we can to lose the game… stupid turnovers, stupid decisions, missed tackles (although we tackled FAR better yesterday than at any point this year).

I think this was the last game I’m going to get to this year… and I honestly can’t say I’m that upset. All I’ll miss is the beer, pre-game comraderie, and cornhole.
