NC State 23, West Virginia 7 -- Champs Sports Bowl Champs
Russell Wilson may have played his last colllege football game--possibly you've heard about this--and if that is indeed the case, he went out with the most Russell Wilson Russell Wilson play ever, scrambling all over the place before throwing across his body to Jarvis Williams for an easy touchdown. Wilson completed 62% of his passes on the the night and accounted for both of State's touchdowns.
State's defense was excellent as well; they forced a handful of turnovers, limited the Mountaineers to 319 total yards and just five yards per pass attempt.
The score probably could have been pushed beyond doubt well before it actually was, but you know how we do things. Doesn't matter. It was a successful year capped off in fitting fashion with a win that wasn't pretty or decisive but plenty of fun nonetheless.

Huh - that seemed awfully easy
Sort of reminded me of PR’s last bowl game against Kansas… we toyed with WVU all night, and just failed to put it in the end zone. The result was a game that was in doubt for FAR longer than it should’ve been… it felt WAY too much like the Clemson game, but thankfully, Bishop & Nate would have none of the comeback.
Great game to build on for next year…
the difference being
that Kansas team stunk and was overmatched. WVU was favored.
Great game plan, focus and execution (minus the standard WR drops).
Remarkable thing to me is that this team has basically no upper-class talent that the NFL will take a serious look at. Nate and Bryan, and that’s basically it. Great job to squeeze 9 wins out of this team by the staff.
Being a NC State fan
I expected all the FG kicking to come back to bite us. Best season since 2002, good job guys!
Let's give Mike Archer his due
Dude took a lot of shit last year and hasn’t exactly earned an equivalent amount of praise this season. He did a great job with this defense. Tenuta helped, I’m sure, but it’s still Archer’s show.
