Tourney Scoreboard

Yesterday was amazing, start to finish.  Can we do that again?

Xavier/Minnesota and Temple/Cornell have the potential to get the day off on the right foot.

Did you see the rumors

that Auburn is close to signing Tubby? That would be a really interesting move. Cornell has maintained a decent lead on Temple throughout the first half. Minnesota/Xavier looking like it has the most potential to go down to the wire.

I did too

Stupid cornell nerds, they are probably taking the derivative of Temple’s defense, setting it = 0 and finding the minimum (assuming minimum = defensive weak spot)

There sure are not very

many people at my work today. This seems to happen a lot of fridays. I’m fairly new, maybe fridays are optional and nobody told me.

Well, not a whole lot of excitement

in these games. What’s your take for the 2:30 games? Will the Hummelless boilermakers go down? Can clemson get their first tourney win under purnell? Will Pitt and Wisconsin roll?

looking forward to that Clemson game

Both Tigers like to press a lot…could be a turnover extravaganza. I picked against Clemson because I can’t trust Purnell until he shows me something in March. But as with nearly every team in this league, I really don’t know what to make of Clemson, so they’ll probably do the opposite of what I expect. Wake already has that ball rolling.

I don’t see Pitt or Wisconsin having much trouble. Wofford plays solid defense…maybe they can hang for a bit. Oakland not so much.

Temple is just about toast. No big deal; I got Wisconsin over the winner anyway.

Xavier’s built a nice cushion against the Gophers. Heading for a lame finish to the early session.

I got Wisconsin taking out Kentucky

I had to make myself pick upsets with how up and down pretty much every team has been.

almost did the same thing but couldn't pull the trigger

I love Bo Ryan. Best coach in the country as far as I’m concerned. His teams compensate beautifully for whatever talent deficits they have by protecting the ball and controlling the defensive glass despite not being particularly big.

I picked Sienna over Purdue

I have no confidence in either team, I just went with the herd picking the upset.

I actually went against my maxim of “never pick clemson to win a tournament game” so we will see how that turns out.

Stephen

where can we get an updated list of win/loss records for each conference – figure’d you know?

by HuBu on Mar 19, 2010 3:03 PM EDT reply actions

not sure

I looked around but couldn’t find anything.

Trevor Booker

with 0 shot attempts, yet clemson is in the lead by virtue of hitting 7 3 pointers already. This looks a recipe for yet another clemson collapse.

10 turnovers too

They’ve got to cut down on those.

Ray Dungeon is off to a heroic start.

OK

what is the score of the clemson game. Gametracker has it 32-19 clemson, but when I go to the espn front page it is 28-26 clemson

Purnell

Sometimes I think he’s a great coach, other times, an awful coach.

Maybe he’s a reverse Sendek – he teaches a system that can have moderate success but its inherent limitations will prevent him from ever breaking through.

I think that nails it.

FSU's offense

is such a trainwreck.

I’m hoping GT can get a win here, but if OSU hits 3s like they can, there won’t be much GT can do.

FSU

doesn’t score 20 points in the first half – FAIL
