Box Score

There's not much to say about this one.  State's offense was as putrid as usual in the first half, and this time the defense wasn't there to keep them in the game.

at first i was upset with the way the team was playing, but after thinking about

it, i realized that for teams seeded 5-8 in the NIT it is very challenging. teams seeded 5-8 in the NIT face playing three games on the road to get to the Garden absent some higher seeded team getting upset. Motivation for UAB was another game at home and against UNC. for State, with a win, it was another game on the road at Chapel Hill. clearly State didn’t play with any intensity, and there could be reasons other than the one i referenced.
after the game, Lowe stated that his team tried to play to fast. Lowe has made similar comments at the end of the season stating that his team should be more patient. i dearly hope he is talking about this years team and not future teams. everyone knows how the fans felt about Sendek’s boring offense. if Lowe’s offense is likewise boring, Lowe’s teams better make elite 8’s and final 4’s.
