They say the victim was a 64-year-old man who drives a shuttle for a Mooresville bar and that the victim accused Sweezy of stealing his tip jar. They say Sweezy punched the man in the face several times.

Officials say the charges aren't set in stone. The district attorney's office will decide on any further charges.

"The reason why we're looking and the investigation is continuing is because the gentleman at 65 years of age has some substantial injuries and the most appropriate charge is what we're after," Capt. Frank Falzone, of the Mooresville Police Department, said.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the incident.
