The N.C. State women's basketball team advances to the finals of the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2007, defeating Boston College 63-57 in the semifinals of the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday.

An undersized Wolfpack squad used a 15-0 second half run to rally, depending on its rugged defense and the clutch shooting of senior guard Nikitta Gartrell, who scored a game-high 25 points and several key shots down the stretch.

State will face top-seeded Duke in the tournament final on Sunday at 1 p.m.

right, so...

Do we liveblog the men or the women?

i am going to the game. yahoo!

i have attended games, watched games via the internet or on t.v. and followed games on gametracker. so. take my word that Gartrel has not been a good shooter for the last two years-not at all. i have written about that at this site more than once. last time i mentioned it, i wrote that i thought it was mental. well wasn’t she mentally ready today!
i actually had tears in my eyes when state came storming back to take the lead-when Kastaneck came alive, when Mune hit that jumper, when Gartrel made that unbelievable and one, and when Holston hit that fall away.
can’t stand the big butt white girl-Sword. go Pack!
do you realize this is the third first year coach taking their basketball team to the tournament finals.
at this site befor the UVA game i wrote i was in a show me mind in that the only way i would think State was going to lose in the tournament was when they actually lost. does the team have anything left for Duke?

You aren’t kidding about Gartrell. Yikes. Kudos to her for stepping up big time today.

I'm at the men's game tomorrow with the boys... so out for liveblog

But yeah – Gartrel just went bat-shit today. And EVERYONE made plays down the stretch. They’re like an anti-Pack team… look mediocre for 3/4 of the game, then turn on the jets and dominate when it’s on the line.

You guys do the liveblog proud tomorrow.

NC State does give wristwatches to the team MVP’s. At least from my perspective, it is a very close call on the men’s basketball MVP, between the Macrowave and BTP liveblog. I certainly could not have made it through the season without either one.
They used to do the watches Mickey Mouse style, with Mr. Wolf in the center and his arms acting as minute and second hand. Unfortunately they later moved to a classy gold face with NC State printed on it, and no wolf. But if I’m in charge, everyone definitely gets the spinning wolf arms.

By the way, why do you have to choose?

Just do a 3-hour liveblog… the first hour is the first half of the women, then an hour of dueling liveblogging with heavy “last channel” action… then the third hour is the 2nd half of the men.

Just a thought…

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless
