Chris Ward, who at one time had been projected to start at punter for N.C. State in 2010, is not on the team's roster for the fall, school sports information director Annabelle Myers said Friday.
Coach Tom O'Brien suspended Ward indefinitely in March for unspecified reasons, saying at the time that Ward was still in class and might be able to return to the team. That's no longer the case.
"He will not be back," Myers said.
Punting woes to continue. In other news, the best player in State's class recently changed his mind and committed to UCF, which means that a punter and a long snapper currently make up half of our 2011 class. Look out, world.

Ongoing crap like this
is why I just can not get excited about football season
Maybe TOB knows something we don't
It’s possible that he’s waiting for Butch Davis and his cronies to be thrown under the NCAA investigation team bus – then he’ll pick up some better recruits. OK – maybe I’ve smoking something too much…
