NC State 30, Cincinnati 19
Well, damn, that was easy.
491 yards on 76 plays, 6.5 yards per snap. Solid work. More Friday once I've gotten rid of this layer of dust.

I don't recall the last easy win at home vs a 1-A team
We kept waiting for us to just blow it… and it never happened.
Great game, start to finish… now let’s make the non-conference wins mean something by beating a few ACC opponents…
And yeah - the layer of dust was nasty
I had to wash my face & legs before I was willing to get into bed… a little f’ing rain to knock the dirt down wouldn’t kill us.
I went to bed at 30-7
I guess I only missed increasing my blood pressure by skipping the last 8 minutes of the game.
Russell looked great. His calm in the pocket really stands out. The defense looked lightyears ahead of last year’s unit. Cincinnati was a mess; poor execution on offense and defense and tons of penalties. What was with all the illegal formation penalties on both squads? I never understand how offensive linemen don’t manage to line up on the line of scrimmage.
Much more to be happy about in this win than to worry about.
Nice Solid W
This may be the calmest I’ve seen us play in a couple of years….the wheels never really came off despite some mistakes (coulda done without the effortless garbage time TDs) that historically have sent us careening into the abyss…
I wish we could figure out how to go for the jugular and actually hit it – we had a number of chances to do that and whiffed…
Overall a good, solid 7.5….
could've locked it up in the first half, easy
Seemed like we had good field position the entire half; felt like we should have had 35, not 20. But no big deal.
The main thing I noticed were the fumbles....
seems like there were quite a few of them

I was worried about a night like that from our freshmen RBs. I don’t think Haynes got any second half playing time after the two first-half fumbles. Wonder if Underwood will be moving up the depth chart.
I'm guessing Curtis (CJ?) may be up to #2 again
And what’s the deal with Barnes & Washington? Hurt or just buried on the depth chart? (I’m too lazy to look it up right now.)
Regardless, whoever’s #2 is a distant #2 – Mustafa’s the real deal.
