Initially, injuries seemed the best explanation for the lack of Sonic Boom on the depth chart, but TOB didn't hint at that potential issue earlier in the week, instead lauding Dean Haynes for his fine performance in camp. Injuries are slowing the development of at least one back, though, as today's injury report revealed: James Washington has a bad hamstring and will miss the WCU game.
No surprises on the list, which is mercifully short. Brandon Barnes, Jarvis Byrd, and R.J. Mattes are still working their way back. Reserve wide receiver Jay Smith can't go, and DB Jesse Riley is out for good along with Rashard Smith.
