Football Strength & Conditioning Coach Todd Rice Resigns
Initially reported yesterday and later confirmed, news that strength and conditioning coach Todd Rice would be pursuing "other professional opportunities." Rice spent ten years as Tom O'Brien's S&C guy: Rice recently completed his fifth season serving as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for football. He previously held the same position for five seasons at Boston College under Tom O'Brien. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the job Rice did here at NC State, though if there was some connection between Rice and the injury epidemic we've endured, it's strange that the same sort of thing didn't happen while he was with TOB at Boston College. And TOB has never hinted publicly that he felt the strength and conditioning program was a problem. If anything, he's deflected attention away from S&C.

It sounds to me...
that despite the success of making a bowl Debbie may have wanted a pelt anyway…with the idea that something has to change…
Debbie did
bring in Bob Alejo as the head of strength and conditioning in May. It is possible that he and Rice have different philosophies.
In my wildly amateur analysis
that some of our guys, particularly on the lines, looked a bit fat whereas when you look at a lot of top programs today, the guys tend to just be huge, but limited blubber.
I don’t know, but I do second mentality’s suggestion.
He might just be tired of working with TOB.
Or his life might need a change of pace. I’m sure we’ll get someone just as qualified to fit the position and he’ll do just as good a job. It’s not like there’s A LOT going on in S&C.
I can do it
Me: “Are you guys working hard?”
Players: “Yes”
Me: “Could you work any harder?”
Players: “Sure thing coach!”
Hank Scorpio would hire me in a minute.
