Cuonzo To Tennessee; Mooney Signs Extension; Gregory To Georgia Tech

Aren't you going to ask me where I got this net?

A brief coaching carousel update: a couple of possible saviors are off the table (not that either one was a real candidate), as Tennessee hired Cuonzo Martin away from Missouri State (sorry, leewolf) and Chris Mooney signed a 10-year extension with Richmond. Mooney has certainly made the most of fairly modest success; according to this link, he signed a seven-year extension after last season. There were reports out of Atlanta that Mooney was going to meet with Georgia Tech officials this weekend, but it appears that never happened. Since Tech seems a little cash strapped because of Hewitt's buyout, maybe they weren't able to offer Mooney the raise he was looking for.

I wonder if we'll start to see more of these unusually long-term deals from mid-majors trying to compensate in years for what they can't afford to pay in salary.

Arkansas: Mike Anderson
Tennessee: Cuonzo
Texas Tech: Billy Gillispie
Providence: Ed Cooley
Missouri: ???
Oklahoma: ???
NC State: SHAKAAAAA (this works too)
Georgia Tech: Brian Gregory

Update: Georgia Tech hired Dayton's Brian Gregory this morning. In eight seasons, Gregory put together a solid if inconsistent program--they went to the NCAA tournament just twice, finished 7th or worse in the A-10 five times.
