LOL
Hope he finds what he is looking for, but if he thought we were an over-the-top fan base…well I’ll just leave it at that.
don't see him getting much playing time at first
but this may work out for him, Cal got a PG in the wings in case he can’t land one every single year and by the time harriow is a jr or sr he should be able to give quality mintues
I love the Steelers.
That sucks
he could certainly be the starter by after sitting out this year, but I doubt this will stop Calipari from recruiting the best PG available in 2012. If he’s even the coach by then.
UNX
already has the best listed PG available but he is ranked in the 30s not a 5 star player…
I love the Steelers.

Hi Guys, ...
As you say it sucks to lose talent to other schools even if you’re braced for it any time there is a coaching change. It happens but it seems you’ve bounced back with the excellent commitment of Tyler Lewis. I’m sure Mark Gottfried will have you guys back in no time. The ACC needs you guys at the top of your game.
We of the Kentucky Big Blue Nation are very pleased to have Ryan decide to play for Calipari. I think he is a tremendous talent and wonder if his last season with NC St. would have been more in line with his elite 5-star recruiting status if he hadn’t gotten ill.
Without Ryan’s transfer, we ran the risk of not continuing our string of top PGs in 2012 (John Wall in 2009, Brandon Knight in 2010 and Marcus Teague in 2011, now Ryan Harrow in 2012). The major problem was that there are no 5-star PGs in the 2012 class and while the top uncommited 4-star prospects in the class, Marcus Paige and L.J. Rose, aren’t chopped liver, they aren’t at the same level as Ryan, imo.
While the 1-n-done nature of a lot of our recruiting results in great talent coming in every year, it results in a recurring problem of our new guys going through steep learning curves during the early season – PGs in particular. Hopefully, Harrow represents a solution to that problem as he gets a year to learn the system and develop under Cal before taking the reins in 2012.
We get a talented a very talented PG able to push Teague this year in practice and debut in 2012 without the rookie learning curve we’ve experienced with Wall and Knight and anticipate this coming season with Teague. That would be nice considering the fact we will be playing UNC in Chapel Hill and Duke in Atlanta in that pre-season. Hopefully, that year Harrow sits out will serve to help him to work through any chemistry issues.
By the way, ...
have you guys seen this? Will Harrow’s transfer to Kentucky help State land Purvis?
Thanks for stopping by
I would be surprised if Ryan’s illness really had much effect on last season. He had a pretty good season for a freshman pg in the ACC. His weaknesses could mostly be attributed to him being young: lack of strength and immaturity. It probably did not help that he was playing for a bad coach with no real offensive system (Lowe). A year to spend focusing on development is probably just what Ryan needs.

I think he missed one game due to his "illness," right?
Main problem Harrow had was that the dude didn’t lift weights, didn’t play defense, and stopped giving a shit entirely sometime in February. He had the worst shooting percentage in conference play of any ACC player in addition to his traffic cone defense.
He has talent, but he’s a loooooooooong way from being a “starting PG for Kentucky” caliber player.
But that being said...
… I could see him fitting in and making a big impact at Kentucky. Some of the issues he had here simply are non-issues there… it’s not a typical college program.

yeah
I have no doubt that Calipari will put him in a better position to succeed on the court. The year off will help him too.
