NC State eliminates Georgia Southern 5-2:
Mazzoni handcuffed the Eagles on four hits over eight innings that allowed the Wolfpack to extend their season. N.C. State (35-26) will face the loser of tonight's winner's bracket match-up between No. 1 seed South Carolina and No. 2 seed Stetson on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Good must win
Still bitter that the last start Mazz got in a Wolfpack uniform could be this one against GASo when it could have been against the Cocks. Go mad Hatter’s, go mad.

Steven
You (or maybe sbas or one of the other guys) want to explain the baseball tournament bracket method to me? If we win tomorrow are we still alive no matter who we play? I just don’t get it, and I’m too lazy to go elsewhere on the interwebz.

four teams, double elimination.
GA Southern is out-two loses-one to S.C. one to State. State of course has one loss and with today’s win is still alive. the winner of tonights game between Stetson and S.C. is in the cat birds seat. the loser plays State tomorrow afternoon. the loser of that game is out. the winner goes on to play tonights winner and has to beat that team twice. i am picking that team to be S.C.
i think State will beat Stetson tomorrow afternoon if S.C. does win tonight. hope that helps.
this is even better:
Game 1: No. 2 Stetson 8, No. 3 North Carolina State 7
Game 2: No. 1 South Carolina 2, No. 4 Georgia Southern 1
Saturday, June 4
Game 3: No. 3 North Carolina State 3, No. 4 Georgia Southern 2
Game 4: No. 2 Stetson vs. No. 1 South Carolina, 7 p.m.
Sunday June 5
Game 5: No. 3 North Carolina State vs. Game 4 loser, 1 p.m.
Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 7 p.m.
Monday, June 6
Game 7 (if necessary): Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 7 p
i am surprised that Ga Southern saved their ace. what a couple
of coaches-Avent and the coach of GaSouthern-savings their aces for the loser’s bracket!
GS, I can understand
I still think it was stupid of us to start Ogburn. GS had to know they weren’t going to win against USC’s best pitcher and in the home crowd. Us on the other hand, I would have rather been playing USC today than GaSo and think we should have gone with Chamra or Mazz in game 1.
it was foolish of Southern to do it that way
You pitch your best guy against the best team in the regional, period.
