A former Rocky Mount High School basketball player was among five people arrested around 5 p.m. Thursday for allegedly conspiring to commit murder.
Rocky Mount police said Tashawn Michael Mabry, 19, and four other teenagers and men were stopped by police on the 1300 block of Raleigh Road after officers received a tip that several alleged gang members were planning a shooting. Officials stopped the vehicle, reportedly seizing four handguns and ammunition in addition to the vehicle.
By passing on Tashawn Mabry, we can say for sure that Sidney Lowe did at least one thing right at NC State.

according to Yahoo sports Mabry committed to Rhode Island in
2010 (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Tashawn-Mabry-68252). i remember him being mentioned as a possible recruit for State. whew!
i further note that Jim Donnan who quarterbacked the 1967 team and was the ACC player of the year was accused of running a Ponzi scheme: http://www.wralsportsfan.com/colleges/story/9870959/. at least the article in its title only mentioned that he was the coach of Georgia. again whew!
Mabry withdrew from
Rhode Island: http://www.projo.com/uri/content/URI_Rams_Baron_Mabry_09-14-10_DAJT6S2_v2.18572e5.html
no doubt, gang work was more important!
