George Bryan Makes Preseason All-ACC Team
Bryan is the only NC State player to make the preseason All-ACC team. Here is the offense:
Offense Pos. Name (Votes) Ht Wt Class
WR Conner Vernon, Duke (20) 6-2 195 Junior
WR Dwight Jones, North Carolina (26) 6-4 225 Senior
TE George Bryan, NC State (40) 6-5 265 Senior
T Blake DeChristopher, Virginia Tech (30) 6-5 312 Senior
T Andrew Datko, Florida State (29) 6-6 321 Senior
G Brandon Washington, Miami (28) 6-4 320 Senior
G Omoregie Uzzi, Georgia Tech (21) 6-3 300 Junior
C Tyler Horn, Miami (18) 6-4 305 Senior
QB EJ Manuel, Florida State (23) 6-5 245 Junior
RB Montel Harris, Boston College (49) 5-10 200 Senior
RB Andre Ellington, Clemson (19) 5-10 190 Junior
Among the minor surprises: EJ Manuel edged out Danny O'Brien at quarterback even though he's never been a full-time starter. There were no unanimous selections, meaning that both Montel Harris and Luke Kuechly were left off a couple of ballots. Earl Wolff didn't get any respect despite a breakthrough 2010 season, but I think it's a good bet he's all-conference at the end of the year.

That first team is awful!!! That’s not an indictment on the voters but on the offense in the conference. Just looking at the skills positions, yikes. Outside of Bryan and Harris, the other 3 are pathetic I think. Jones is really 1st team? Ellington? Seriously? Manuel is the best QB in conference? Can’t speak to OL, but I’m underwhelmed with the skill positions.
