Since becoming a consistent starter for the Titans in 2008, Tulloch has averaged 122 tackles per year, including last season, when he went for a career-high 160. He's known for his sure tackling, but can drop into pass coverage effectively as well -- just the kind of versatility Schwartz is looking for. Plus, there's that chip on Tulloch's shoulder.
Stephen Tulloch has joined Willie Young on the Lions and holy crap he had 160 tackles last year.
As for Young, Detroit hopes he can step into a bigger role this season.

his agent should be canned
but hopefully a year of playing behind the insane D-Line that the lions have put together will allow Tulloch to put up some big numbers.

Big numbers?
What’s bigger than 160 tackles? 220-something, the unofficial season record. Go Tulloch!
Undersized
Still think a lot of teams look at Stephen as undersized, and for all those tackles, the Titans’ D was still scorched. I hope on a better defense, he gets the recognization he has earned after working his ass of for the Titans. Shocked they didn’t want to keep him around.
I think I read somewhere
that Tulloch had a fairly high number of tackles broken last year. That seems like a fairly qualitative stat though.
