"I just didn't make shots," Wood said. "Personally, a lot of it's on me. That's why I'm there. I'm not there to be Ben Wallace in the paint and block every shot. I'm there to knock down shots, and I didn't do that tonight."

i am really trying to figure Wood's game out.
not with regard to his poor shooting last night, but on his game in general. is he afraid of contact and lazy, or does the offense call for him to, at times, stand around outside the three point line and away from the ball, and fake setting a pick inside the lane followed by rotation to the three point line? if he is suppose to set a pick, well, he is avoiding the required contact to do so and is not setting a very good pick. i have noticed Wood’s lack of movement, and on that matter, both Vitale and Elmore have made comments about his lack of movement, so i wonder with regard to that.
i agree with several comments regarding Wood being held when passing through the lane, and its blatant. would being held so much lead to him not moving as much as he should?
Wood's defenders
have received quite a few foul calls from holding him. Stoglin of Maryland received an intentional foul because his hold was so blatant.
I do think he can tend to not make cuts as hard as he needs to, and avoids contact. As much as I hated JJ Reddick, you could never question his effort off the ball. That is who Wood needs to model his game after.

I like the kid stepping up and stating that, but...
you win as a team, and you lose as a team. You weren’t the only one.
Wood continued
“I imagine it is a lot like having a child kidnapped. As a parent, you know you’re not supposed to let them get kidnapped, that is why you are there.”
