Another weekend in the books, and it appears that the Bye Week was a good one for the PACK. Other than that, it was a strange week with four teams having a bye this week. An abbreviated schedule means we have an abbreviated power rankings. FSU returned to its winning ways, and Duke started strong, but finished like, well, the Duke of old. Very few changes in the (lack of) Power Rankings this week.
(1) Florida State - The Seminoles beat up on Boston College in Tallahassee this weekend. 6-1 overall, 3-1 in conference. (Who did they lose to again, I can’t seem to recall??)
(2) Clemson - One of four conference teams facing the bye week. 5-1 overall, 2-1 in conference.
(3) North Carolina - Beat Miami in Miami to pick up an impressive road win. Speaking of which, wouldn’t that have been nice to do a couple of weeks ago? Anyway, the Tarheels look to be having a really solid season so far. Wonder who they’ll play in their bowl...oh yea, sorry guys. 5-2 overall, 2-1 in conference.
(4) NC State - Hopefully the Pack uses the bye week to get ready for Maryland. Can’t afford a trip up against them. Not that it’s ever happened before or anything. 4-2 overall, 1-1 in conference.
(5) Virginia Tech - Weren’t ready for Duke in the first quarter, but ultimately didn’t become known as the team Duke beat to become bowl eligible. 4-3 overall, 2-1 in conference.
(6) Miami - Followed their destruction at Notre Dame in Chicago by losing at home to the Heels. 4-3 overall, 3-1 in conference.
(7) Duke - Started strong, but couldn’t keep it going, losing at VT. Will be looking to become bowl eligible next weekend. 5-2 overall, 2-1 in conference.
(9) Maryland - Beat Wake Forest and now Virginia to remain undefeated in the conference. 4-2 overall, 2-0 in conference..
(8) Georgia Tech - One of four team with a bye this weekend. Maybe they were able to locate their defense during the week off. 2-4 overall, 1-3 in conference.
(10) Wake Forest - The last of the four teams with a bye week. 3-3 overall, 1-3 in conference.
(11) Virginia - A loss to Maryland continues a disappointing year and their fall through the rankings, nearly into last place.. 2-5 overall, 0-3 in conference.
(12) Boston College - A loss in Tallahassee to keep a hold on last place, though Virginia’s giving them a run for their money. 1-5 overall, 0-3 in conference.
(X) indicates previous ranking. As always, I welcome your feedback and thoughts. Go PACK!
