It wasn't much to look at from an offensive perspective, but State overcame a painfully slow start to control every aspect of this game...well, except rebounding. Georgia Tech built an early lead on the strength of offensive boards, and we didn't do a good job of shoring that up as the game went on, but fortunately the Jackets were so bad in the shooting and turnover categories that the rebounding discrepancy didn't end up costing the Wolfpack this game.
Glen Rice scored 15 points but hit just six of 16 field goal attempts, and was 1-5 from three. Good work by C.J. Williams tonight. Williams also helped keep State in the game early on. Georgia Tech finished the night 1-17 from beyond the arc; this after their 9-15 effort in Raleigh. Slight course correction there.

I will take it
We were outrebounded big time, wood was 2-5 from the free throw line, and we were 5 assists under our average. This all happened on the road in an ACC game.

Can't complain about a road win
especially one where our strengths struggled.

Julius Hodge, Jamie Barnette, Torry Holt, and the entire history of our football series beg to differ

This has to be a parody, right?
Well actually in light of the trailer trash Cuse fans that sat near us at the game, this could be real. Those folks couldn’t spell Syracuse, much less have gne to college anywhere. I actually felt kind of sorry for them. This guy seems to be in the same boat. Big ups to the Swoff for brining these gutter dwellers into our conference.

Pretty sure this is the same guy

It's worth noting that fab-SU-lous
isn’t a member of the ‘Cuse blog, so I can only assume that this is a very poor trolling attempt. My only reservation is that I can’t imagine why anyone would do this…
That's good to hear

Not THAT long ago
05-06 we were 4-4 on the road. Probably have to go back a lot further to find an actual winning road record, though, so maybe we can get that.
I was worried
when Glen Rice hit the double-clutch 3 pointer. While we were bemoaning AJ’s shooting slump, Mfon Udofia has gone 2 straight games without hitting a shot for tech, and he is their starting pg.
It’s always nice to get a road ACC win, especially when you don’t play your best. I thought State had great defensive intensity throughout the game (except on the boards). Painter being under the weather probably didn’t help the rebounding situation either, since the bigs couldn’t get their regular breathers.
Very Good Win
We got the one back they stole from us. There aren’t many “beautiful” road wins, you just survive them.
We’re winning the ones we should win. Now we need to steal one we aren’t expected to win.
I will never ever
complain about a road win in the ACC. They are almost always ugly. The beatdown in Winston-Salem is a rarity. Now time to prepare for the Dukies.
Wow, glad I drank myself silly at the bar
They had this great stout…anyway, that game looked atrocious from the box score and when I saw Wood’s line saying 2-5 from the line, I was sure ESPN made a mistake.
I was going to re-watch the game, but I think I’ll just let that one die. Now time to start praying for some better games over these next three.
Atleast I stayed away from the Jack&Ginger
but that will make a return next Thursday… I think I might tell my boss I’m calling in sick next Friday.

Funny you mention this,
as I camped outside Foothills for my 4 bottles on release day. It’s the first time I’ve stayed up all night in years…and it was so worth it. Can’t wait to see how they age.
