As background, Harris is a 6-9, 210 pound sophmore, originally from Fayetteville, NC, who averaged about 7 points, 5.5 boards, and over 2 blocks in 26 minutes per game for the dumpster fire that was last year's Gamecock basketball team. Reports are that he is following Anthony Gill out of Columbia, and Frank Martin has agreed to release him anywhere-except NC State. Apparently Martin thinks there was some tampering by NC State coaches, reminiscent of Randy Edsall blocking Danny O'Brien from transferring to Vandy (recall that Orlando Early was at SC before last season). Harris was #61 in the Class of 2010 in the RSCI rankings, and shot very well from the field and line last season. He'd certainly help in a big way in 2013-14, by which time Howell and presumably Calvin will be gone. Hope this gets worked out somehow.
