Stay connected for news and updates

Bobby Lutz will not be the next head coach at Virginia Tech. The Hokies have chosen to go with James Johnson, who was an assistant at Clemson most recently but also spent several years on Seth Greenberg's staff.

Johnson informed Clemson coach Brad Brownell that he had accepted the job Monday morning, a source with direct knowledge of the situation said.

Johnson interviewed for the job over the weekend, the source said.
