If you missed it today, the N&O has a good feature on former Wolfpack FB Taylor Gentry, who is trying to prove to the Kansas City Chiefs that he can contribute in the NFL.
"I look at it (as) being a walk-on again," Gentry said. "I was told by so many people, even by my friends, I wasn’t going to make it at N.C. State. I’ve got the same opportunity to make a name for myself with the Chiefs, and that’s what I plan to do."
I'm still really disappointed that his senior season was cut short before he got the carry that TOB promised him. He deserved that moment, though he's no stranger to making a big impact for State.
In hindsight, it's pretty amazing that he never got a scholarship offer from even an FCS team out of high school. We were just fortunate that his parents and HS coach went to NC State.
