The best chance to get the elusive sixth win may very well come at North Carolina State, which is winless in the ACC and truly awful. (Apparently Gary Williams sabotaged N.C. State Athletic Director Debbie Yow’s football coaching search in addition to the subterfuge she accused him of performing when she was looking for a basketball coach.)
From an article in the Wahington Post by John Feinstein entitled "Still not getting it done in College Park".
This portion of the article is also interesting:
When things began to go south that first season, Edsall began pointing fingers so fast he appeared to have four hands: It was Friedgen’s fault; it was the fault of the players who chose to leave, the fault of the players who stayed, the fault of Christmases past, present and future. Everyone except Randy Douglas Edsall was to blame.
Doeren has not pointed fingers as Edsall apparently did, but others have made excuses for him similar to what Edsall made for himself. In Doeren's defense, it could be true that State is bad for reasons beyond his control, but maybe not. Time will tell. Want me on your side Doeren, just say "I was wrong, the UNC game is not just another game, it's a big time rivalry game and we need to win it. No excuses." That is all you have to do.
Like Bill O'Reilly, I am a simple man. Right!
