Archie Miller having a tough year at Dayton

Archie seems to have put together a good team, but it would appear as though he, too, is suffering from the NC State close-loss phenomenon. His boys lost again today, this time suffering a 1-point loss vs Temple.

Dayton has what would appear to be a very average 13-10 record, but when looking at their losses, five of have come by two points or less. Among the other losses, the Angry Archies lost by just six to #14 ranked Butler.

One would assume that the law of averages would come into play here and that the team would have several close wins under its belt, too. Nope. Of Dayton's 13 wins, none have been within one possession... hell, only two have been within two possessions (a 5-point win at Alabama and a 6-point win over St. Joseph's).

Dayton is currently ranked #72 in the Pomeroy ratings, placing them above such teams as Herbie's 18-5 Arizona State and six ACC teams (GT, FSU, Clemson, BC, VT, and Wake).

I sure hope Archie can shake the curse of the close losses because his team doesn't look all that bad.
