Stay connected for news and updates

Last year in the women's ACC tournament, State became the first number 9 seed to defeat the number 1 seed by beating Duke 75-73. Kastanek had 16 points hitting a big three with less than 3 left to give State a 71-65 lead. This year, State after beating Clemson, as a number 8 seed again plays number 1 seed Duke at 2 p.m. today.

Duke currently has a RPI of 5, a SOS of 32 and a record of 27-2 (17-1 conference).

State currently has a RPI of 107, a SOS of 71 and a record of 16-15 (7-11 conference).

RPI and SOS from Warren Nolan.

Earlier this year Duke beat State at Raleigh 67-57. State trailed 45-44 with less than eight left and Kastanek hit a three to bring State to within 7 points with less than three left.

Chelsea Gray who scored 25 points on 10-17 shooting in last year's tournament game, and who scored 20 points on 6-13 shooting in Raleigh this year, is out for the year. She hurt her knee cap on February 17 in a game against Wake Forest. However, Duke went 3-1 after her injury including a win over Maryland at Maryland and a win over UNC at UNC.

Even without Gray, Duke is still good-very good.

The Chip/Sbas2 indicator likes Duke. Sbas2 likes Duke by 10+; however, look for the game to remain tight well into the second half.
