I have been thinking about what kind of team we can expect next year, and it's really hard to say. Sometimes it's not about just four and five star recruits, but more about how things come together. For example, we have had some very highly touted recruits who have been major flops. Do the likes of scooter Sherrill, Walker Lambiotte,John Thompson, Marcus Melvin, and others ring a bell? Sometimes a great high school player just doesn't fit the college game. They just never perform. On the other hand what about folks like Vinny De Negro, Tom Gugliotta, and Justin Gainey and others. They were very good players and were not highly recruited. Rodney Purvis was but he just didn't produce. He will maybe only ever be an average college player. It's more about what can Gott get out of the players. Valvano was a master at getting the most out of the players he had. Time will tell if Gott can do the same.
