WBB: A No Show Kody is Way, Way Better Than no Kody At All

Yea, it was Kody. Kody, after scoring 30 at Duke Thursday night, scored a big zero in the first half against Virginia. But, but, with State down 1 with 11 seconds left, Kody nails the three for the 68-66 win as Randolph of UVA misses a three with 8 seconds left. So. A no show Kody, is way, way better than no Kody at all.

Kody scored 7 points on 2 of 14 from the field. Markeisha Gatling scored 22 on 7 of 11 from the field making back to back baskets, the first a very tough shot, to give State one point leads at 56 seconds and 33 seconds. This occurred after Miah Spencer, who scored 17 on 5 of 10 from the field, hit a big three to tie at 61.

State lost starter and best three point shooter Myisha Goodwin-Coleman and six-four Lakeesa Daniel, Gatling's very capable back-up, on Thursday and Friday respectively, both with ACL season ending injuries. State looked tired as UVA scored 9 straight to go up by 61-52 with 6:53 left.

State is now 10-4 in conference and 23-5 overall. To add to the pleasure of beating UVA, both Duke and UNC lost today. UNC lost at home to 3-11 Virginia Tech.

Diamond, sometimes big mouthed freshmen lose games they should not. And Daimond, sometimes a senior makes a three for the win while a big mouthed freshman misses a three for the tie.

Duke lost to undefeated Notre Dame.

After losing to Duke and losing a starter and top sub, one could understand State losing today, but freshman Miah, and super seniors Gatling and Burke would not let them.
