If you were wondering if Lorenzo Brown is back to 100%, the answer, unfortunately, is no. Brown said the ankle bothered him during the entire game Wednesday, which is not surprising given that he tweaked it during the first half. Good stuff from Stephen Schramm here.
"I just tried to keep this ankle off my mind," said Brown, who missed two games after suffering a left ankle injury earlier this month. "It was bothering me this whole game."
Brown's mistake was his decision to go with low-tops for the game, but it's one he won't make again--he's sworn them off for the rest of the season. Fortunately the big second-half lead that State built allowed Brown to sit for the last eight minutes or so. At this point I don't know if we can expect Brown to be at full strength again this season, so any bit of extra rest he's able to get is big. He can still be a difference-maker despite the nagging pain, which he showed last night, but it's a real bummer that this isn't going away. Or at least not going away while he's wearing low-tops.
We can blame adidas for this, can't we?
