Video: The Jimmy V Speech Featured In 'Survive And Advance'

USA TODAY Sports

There was not a whole lot of...what do they call that stuff...good news on Tuesday. So let's all forget about that and watch the video below. If you watched the 30 for 30 special on the '83 team, you'll recognize the footage. If you haven't watched it yet, you may want to wait. Not that this video is really a spoiler.

This is the complete footage of the speech that was excerpted throughout the documentary, and while this was for a corporate function, there is a lot of gold here. Some of the stories will be familiar--he drew heavily from this material for his ESPYs speech, which I hadn't realized--but it's all classic V. He mentions at the start that he was told to keep it to 30 minutes or so; he goes on for closer to an hour. If you could use a laugh today, this isn't a bad place to start.
