Bobby Lutz is reportedly taking another shot at landing a head coaching job, this time at College of Charleston, per the Charleston Post and Courier. The Post and Courier also notes that former Charleston player Anthony Johnson, considered the frontrunner for the job, will interview this week. Johnson was a candidate during the school's last coaching change, when Doug Wojcik was hired.
If it seems strange for a D-I program to be conducting head coaching interviews in August, well, yes, yes it is. The Cougars cut ties with Wojcik just a couple of weeks ago amid an internal investigation into his conduct with his players and athletics department staff.

Lutz, who's been searching for a head coaching opportunity since being fired by UNC-Charlotte, interviewed for the App State job earlier this year but eventually withdrew his name from consideration. That decision might end up paying more immediate dividends than anybody would've guessed--the Charleston gig is far better.
