NC State Football Recruiting: Bo Hines Becomes First Member Of 2014 Class

US PRESSWIRE

The Pack's 2014 class begins with wide receiver Bo Hines.

Dave Doeren and his staff picked up their first commitment from the class of 2014 when wide receiver Bo Hines picked NC State on Tuesday. Hines, who is from Charlotte, was on campus today and apparently liked enough of what he heard to pull the trigger.

"I think the situation sets up perfect," he said. "Not many receivers on scholarship and they run a spread offense, and I really liked the coaching staff and I feel comfortable with them. I know that Coach Doeren is going to be a great head coach and I know he's going to win up there. They have one goal up there and that's to win the National Championship."

Yeah, we definitely have some strong selling points for wide receiver prospects. Hines is a consensus three-star prospect who is 6'1" and runs a 4.49 40 according to 247Sports. That service also considers him the 17th best player from North Carolina in the 2014 class. One of the new staff's goals is to do a better job mining in-state talent, and this is a good start, even if he isn't a headliner-type based on his recruiting ranking. It's also encouraging to see State pull a guy from Charlotte, which feels like something that rarely happened in the past.

Hines finished his junior year with 45 grabs for 794 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has an offer from Nebraska.
