The 2014 ACC football schedule is out, so we can now begin the early prognosticatin' game. Unless that gets too depressing. Might get too depressing.
NC State opens the season with all four of its non-conference games, which is fortunate considering the way league play begins. Florida State comes to Carter-Finley on Sept. 27, and the Wolfpack follows that with a road trip to Clemson. Hey, at least we're getting the rough part out of the way quickly. A trip to Louisville caps an incredibly front-loaded conference slate, but the back half ain't lookin' a whole lot easier.

Sept. 13 | @ South Florida |
Sept. 20 | Presbyterian |
Sept. 27 | Florida State |
Oct. 4 | @ Clemson |
Oct. 11 | Boston College (Hall of Fame Day) |
Oct. 18 | @ Louisville |
Oct. 25 | Open |
Nov. 1 | @ Syracuse |
Nov. 8 | Georgia Tech (Homecoming) |
Nov. 15 | Wake Forest |
Nov. 22 | Open |
Nov. 29 | @ North Carolina |
The good news is that OOC slate sets the Wolfpack up for bowl eligibility despite all of the challenges that come later on. If we are fortunate, NC State will only need to find a couple of league wins to get to 6-6. The potential is there for more, of course, but with this road schedule coupled with the FSU home game, we aren't exactly getting a lot of golden opportunities.
UPDATE: We've also got a helmet schedule thanks to Drew Johnson (@d_johnson13). PDF right here. The Atlantic...
