I have a message for North Carolina State University – don't mess with Loyola University New Orleans.

Whenever I hear the nickname "Wolfpack," the only collegiate athletic program I think of is the one that resides at 6363 St. Charles Avenue – the Loyola Wolfpack, thank you very much.

The NC State athletics department has signed a four-year agreement with CBSSports.com College Network to provide webhosting services for GoPack.com, the official website of Wolfpack athletics, new NC State athletics director Deborah A. Yow has announced.

As part of the move, a newly designed and enhanced site will be launched Thursday afternoon.

The coach of North Carolina State University's dance team was charged Wednesday with embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from her team.

An arrest warrant states that Jamila Kikora Wright, 27, of 1356 Sunbow Falls Lane, Apt. 305 in Raleigh, stole $21,001.31 in "currency, goods and services" from the team between December 2007 and February.

Chancellor Woodson: As I have said publicly and frequently, I am a huge fan of college athletics. On a personal level, I enjoy the environment and enthusiasm that the alums and others have for the university, in many cases because of athletics. It is a big part of the brand for the university. It is something that has the potential to help attract great students and keep alumni coming back to NC State. That is a good thing. But it can be a challenge when it is not done well or ethically. Every indication is that NC State has been working hard to be compliant with the NCAA rules. What I see is a university whose alumni are passionate about athletics. I have already heard from a lot of them.

SFN: In the absence of either a single team conference or national championship during your nearly 10-year tenure at State, which achievements do you consider your greatest?

Folwer: As a student of history, let me ask you: how many championships did King Tut win? Nobody knows. Now, let me ask you: have you ever heard of the Pyramids? Everybody has. And who built them? King Tut. Sometimes a legacy of concrete lasts longer and is more important than a few trinkets from Mort’s.

Amid questions as to why this kind of shit always happens to him, area resident Patrick Kennedy told reporters Monday it was just his goddamn luck.
