NC State made it interesting in the top of the 9th by issuing four walks, which allowed the Heels to score two runs without a hit. Chris Overman induced a few ground ball outs to pick up his fourth save.
With the win, State took the series and moved into sole possession of 7th place in the ACC at 7-10. BC and Wake are tied for 8th at 6-11.
