Hearing that former NC State DE Corey Edmond will be the new S & C coach at NC State
"Number one, I know the area," Archer said. "Another thing, Pitt is coming into the ACC. I feel that’s an advantage for me, because I’ve coached in the league for the last five years. I know all about western Pennsylvania, and I know you can be successful if you recruit western Pennsylvania with eastern Ohio. I can still go into Miami. Florida is still big with Pitt."
A dozen @PackFootball players will graduate tomorrow. Will be 17 postgrads on bowl roster.
19. Belk Bowl – Louisville (7-5) vs. NC State (7-5) – Dec. 27
A matchup of 7-5 teams usually won’t register on most national radars, but there is some intrigue with this one. Both teams will be bringing a lot of talent back next season and should easily threaten more than seven wins. The Wolfpack won three out of their last four to get to seven wins, while the Cardinals got on track after a 2-4 start. NC State quarterback Mike Glennon will test a Louisville secondary that ranks 61st nationally in stopping the pass.
Jeff Rieskamp has been ruled out for the season. Career is likely over.
How much did Bryan Underwood's role expand because Tobais was not available?
Well, he was the only one left. We took Steve Howard from the other side. Thank goodness Steve has been around, knows every wide receiver position. We were basically down to four guys to play in the first half against Virginia. We talk about a lot.
"I can run on it and everything," Sweezy said. "I'm just ready to get back into football."
NC State sophomore running back Mustafa Greene is going to redshirt after having offseason foot surgery last spring.
I think Norman was a guy we didn't want to play much at all, and he's been forced into a starting role as a red shirt freshman. He's better off if he would be playing about 25% of the time. Now he's playing 75%, and doing a pretty good job for us right now.
He is already tied for the eighth-best single season mark in touchdowns in school history. Only Philip Rivers, Jamie Barnette and Russell Wilson have ever thrown more TDs for the Pack in a season than Glennon has thrown thus far in 2011. In fact, he is on pace to surpass the statistics posted by both Rivers and Wilson in their first season as a starter.
