"After talking to my family, my coaches and doing a lot of praying, I’ve decided that it’s time for me to pursue playing football at the next level," said Baker "It was a tough decision because I have loved my time at NC State and have really enjoyed playing for Coach O’Brien. But after weighing all my options, I think this is the right move for me at this time in my life."
The NCAA has granted NC State senior tailback Toney Baker a sixth year of eligibility, Wolfpack head coach Tom O'Brien announced following Thursday's football practice.
"We will sit down with him after the end of the season and talk about it and see what he wants to do,"O'Brien said at the Dail Practice Field. "We still have two games to play. There is plenty of time to talk with him about what he wants to do."
Baker will graduate in December with a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. While he has the option of returning, he has not made a firm decision yet.
