Price said Tuesday that he was "close to 100 percent" during practice Monday. He sprained his left knee with 11 minutes left last week against Syracuse. With him out of the game, the Orange rallied from a 15-point deficit and won 36-29 in overtime.
A former Wake Forest University student who will appear Thursday on NBC’s The Today Show filed a complaint in 2009 alleging that former WFU basketball player Gary Clark sexually assaulted her in a hotel bathroom while teammate Jeff Teague stood outside the door, according to a report from the Miami Police Department.
Blogger So Dear has received information from multiple sources that a former Wake Forest student will make an appearance on the Today Show telling the nation about a sexual assault by two former Wake Forest basketball players, occurring the night before the 2009 NCAA tournament game against Cleveland State.
"You’re going to see a team that says ‘We’re not going to take it anymore,’ " Godfrey said. "Because once upon a time, Wake Forest could be a sleeper. And now everybody expects what Wake Forest has to offer.
"Normally when people would play against Wake Forest, it was Little Old Wake Forest. But now they understand that Wake Forest can turn the light on at any time.
"And right now we’re going to turn the light on this week and you’re going to see a truly different Wake Forest team."
Dino Gaudio's unceremonious exit from Wake Forest on Wednesday left him in a unique group of former ACC coaches.
Since 1986, 16 coaches have either been fired or forced out. Gaudio tops the dubious group in ACC winning percentage (.562) and ranks second in overall winning percentage (.663).
It should be noted, Gaudio's tenure was the shortest of the group, tied with North Carolina's Matt Doherty and Maryland's Bob Wade at just three seasons.
Wake Forest has announced that basketball coach Dino Gaudio has been fired after three seasons.
Gaudio was 61-31, 27-21 in the ACC, in three seasons. The school will immediately start a national search for a new coach.
"Dino has made contributions to this program over the last 10 seasons," Wake Forest athletics director Ron Wellman said in a statement. "He stepped into a difficult situation at a very trying time when Skip Prosser passed away and he steadied the program.
"But from a competitive standpoint, it has been disappointing that we have developed a pattern of not playing well late in the season and in the postseason. Wake Forest has a proud history of basketball success but we have not been as competitive in the postseason as we would like."
NC State, out of nowhere, has one of the top defenses in the country. Is that surprising to you, and what do you see from them on film?
RS: No, NC State has always been really talented on film. They have a defensive coordinator who came from the Steelers. The thing NC State does is they throw a lot at you. Compared to Boston College, Boston College is a pretty basic defense, they make you earn what you get, they play very sound defense, don’t make a lot of mistakes, but NC State throws a bunch at you. They have a lot of stuff in their package, which makes it tough to prepare. You’ve gotta spend that much more time in the film room studying them and looking for any tendencies you can find. They’re not easy with that team to find. I can definitely see why they’re one of the top defenses in the country.
