While the entire field has yet to be unveiled, ESPN VP Dan Shoemaker confirmed over the weekend that Georgetown will be participating in the tournament (via):
ESPN vice president Dan Shoemaker revealed the partial field this weekend while attending the Cremins Tennis Challenge at the Family Circle Tennis Center, hosted by College of Charleston basketball coach Bobby Cremins.
Also participating are Wofford, East Carolina, George Mason and Charlotte. Shoemaker says the other two teams have yet to be determined.
Cremins says he's pleased to have a Charleston Classic field that includes Georgetown and N.C. State, even if his Cougars are missing for a second straight year.
"This is important for the fans of the city," Cremins said of the tournament's field. "This is the first year we don't have Charleston or South Carolina or Clemson in it, and that makes it tougher (to promote), but ESPN wants to make this tournament a good one."
According to the report, the early round games will be televised by ESPNU and the championship game will air on ESPN2.
