The Entertainment and Sports Arena is undergoing another name change, and it doesn't have much of a ring to it...
The purchase of Raleigh-based RBC Bank by Pittsburgh's PNC Financial Services Group means that the RBC Center, home of the Canes, North Carolina State University men's basketball, concerts and circuses will get a new name.
As soon as March 2012, those events will call the local sports and entertainment venue "PNC Arena."
But if you rearrange those letters, it spells Ran Pecan, and while I have no idea what that means, it does have a ring to it.
PNC also owns the naming rights to a couple of baseball stadiums. This is their first foray into basketball/hockey arenas, according to wikipedia.
