Today the ACC announced kickoff times and television network information for the first three weeks of the football season. As expected, NC State gets a couple of 6 PM kickoffs for its cupcake games, and as I say every year, I think that's the perfect kickoff time in September. So you can officially start planning that first tailgate.
Sept 3: vs. Liberty -- 6 PM (ESPN3)
Sept. 10: at Wake Forest -- 3:30 PM (RSN***)
Sept. 17: vs. South Alabama -- 6 PM (ESPN3)
Sept. 22: at Cincinnati -- 8 PM (ESPN)
***Under the new television contract, the Regional Sports Network is the ACC Network thing we're used to, except it's distributed on cable--Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas, etc.
Update: An additional note from NC State's release:
ACC network syndicated games will have a new, later kickoff time of 12:30 p.m.; while the Regional Sports Network package will be no earlier than 12:30 p.m., with several games slated for 3:30 p.m. or later.
Woohoo, an extra half hour! This doesn't mean we've seen the last of noon kickoffs, but it does mean they'll happen less often.
