5-Star Shooting Guard Torian Graham Commits To NC State

More backcourt help is on the way--Mark Gottfried landed his first commitment as NC State's head coach and it is a big one. Torian Graham, a 6-3 shooting guard from Word of God in Raleigh, made his decision earlier today, as first reported by Pack Insider:

Graham is the #25 overall player in the nation according to Scout.com who many have said has the elite scoring ability to be the #1 playmaker on a top 25 team, something NC State has been lacking for years.

This is a huge pull for NC State who was in need of adding more talent to the 2012 class, but it's also is a statement pull by head coach Mark Gottfried who is looking to make a serious move for in-state talent. It also might be a lead into a commitment that would put NC State over the top for '12, as it's said that the #8 player in the nation, Rodney Purvis, wants to attend the same college as Graham.

PI also has some scouting information and video that you'll probably want to check out.

Graham's commitment has been confirmed by ESPN's Dave Telep and Scout's Evan Daniels. With Graham's addition, NC State's 2012 recruiting class includes two players in the Scout top 60.
