Let's Play "Count The Potential Violations"!

Via Duke Hoop Blog came this note from CBSSports.com writer Bryan Fischer:

Under the radar re: Social media/NCAA: Enforcement has told schools that if a fan/booster tweets/Facebook's a recruit, that's a violation...
In a few cases, that's manageable. It's not that hard to search Facebook and find groups set up by fans in an effort to lure a recruit; you probably remember the hoohaw when NC State shut down the John Wall group. But the rest? Impossible to monitor or enforce. It's direct person-to-prospect messages that constitute the bulk of interaction on the internet. (Edit: As a couple people on Twitter have pointed out, there's nothing to stop, say, a Duke fan from posing as a Tar Heel fan on Twitter and no way to verify the authenticity of accounts like that.)

To get an idea of just how impossible it would be, I sifted through the Twitter accounts belonging to a couple of high-major college basketball recruits and NC State targets: Rodney Purvis and TJ Warren. Here's a sampling of messages from fans from just the last week or so.
