According to this report from Madison.com, Russell Wilson's Wisconsin visit went quite well:
Wilson arrived in Madison on Tuesday and finished up his visit prior to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
"It was a home run — a grand slam in baseball terms," a UW source said about the visit.
The source added that Wilson liked Madison better than Auburn, though as far as anyone credible knows, he has yet to make a commitment.
That runs contrary to the BREAKING EXCLUSIVE tweets by one college student yesterday afternoon that launched a few hours of chaos. A kid by the name of David Hookstead has been adamant since yesterday afternoon that Wilson committed to Wisconsin and that an official announcement is imminent.
He could well be right, but his motivations look questionable at this point, aside from the whole random dude factor. There were a couple of other reports/regurgitations last night, though neither one appears accurate.
Still hearing Russell Wilson hasn't committed to a school just yet
Matt Lincoln, a sports anchor for NBC's affiliate in Richmond:
Just spoke to Russell Wilson's mother - he says Wilson HAS NOT told Wisconsin that he is going there yet.
Regardless of what some tweeting nimrods are saying, Wilson is NOT officially committed to UW. There are still things for him to finalize.
Brandon Harrison, a Wisconsin athletics deptartment employee:
I know it's tough, Badger fans, but wait on Russell Wilson. Visit was great. Kick back. Relax. You'll know when we (@BadgerFootball) know.
