I haven't looked at the box score and I don't plan on looking at the box score, which is always a good sign that a particular game was incredibly painful. It's also a good sign that there were stakes involved, and as far as that goes, it's been a while.
Obviously, it's going to be really tough for NC State to build an NCAA tournament-worthy resume without winning the conference tournament, and that 's disappointing. Today was extra tough just within the context of the last week and a half. The game never should have gotten to overtime, but it was Clemson that made the plays in the final minute of both regulation and overtime, and there ain't much more to say about it.
We should have escaped with the win in a game that saw Scott Wood offer up one of the worst performances of his career while the referees... nah, I'm not gonna go there. Not much point to it now. Hit a couple more free throws, have Wood hit one of those open threes he missed, and we're still on track. Alas.
