As CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman reported earlier on Wednesday, freshman guard Jaqawn Raymond has decided to leave the NC State basketball program.
Raymond logged a total of 29 minutes over 11 appearances in 2012, and most of those came in garbage time, especially once the Pack reached conference play. Raymond's departure certainly hurts State in practice because he's a good athlete, not to mention the fact that we just don't have a lot of guards.
But he probably wasn't ever going to have much of an impact for the program in games, and with Rodney Purvis and Tyler Lewis on the way, that's probably what he's thinking as well.
Best of luck to Jaqawn wherever he ends up. He can definitely help somebody, I'm just not sure that's a team at the major-conference level.
