Wolfpack wide receiver Bryan Underwood has suffered an injury that will require surgery. Naturally, Tom O'Brien wasn't interested in sharing details about the situation when he didn't have to. This mystery injury hasn't ended Underwood's season, according to TOB. Not yet, anyway.
Wolfpack coach Tom O'Brien said Underwood, who's expected to be one of State's leading receivers, will be out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury. Underwood needed surgery, O'Brien said, but the coach did not rule him out for the season.
Underwood, who was listed behind Quintin Payton at one WR spot on the latest depth chart, caught 16 balls for 225 yards and a pair of scores in 2011. Tobais Palmer is the only returning wide receiver who caught more passes than Underwood last season, so an already green unit is left without a big chunk of what little experience it had.
