The Citadel is off to a great start to the 2012 season, and worse, it brings The Terror. The triple option. Why do teams still run it? Because it is the stuff of nightmares, and the situational leverage gained from matchups against disrespectful yokels can be massive. NC State should know better after what Georgia Tech did to the Wolfpack last season, but then again...this is NC State. What we know for sure is that the linebackers are going to be crucial to State's defense on Saturday.

Linebackers Rodman Noel, Brandon Pittman and Rickey Dowdy also need to make tackles on the outside when the quarterback pitches the ball. And the defensive linemen have to "eat up" blocks, Archer said.

"They’ve got to let the linebackers run. That’s the whole key, linebackers have to make plays against the (option)," Archer said.
