It's the early morning edition of Tampa-Pack's ACC Power Rankings. Week Three featured a matchup of top ten ACC schools, yes I said ACC schools, in primetime. All in all it was a great nationally televised game, even if the defenses didn't show up. The Pack spent Saturday honoring our military by beating The Citadel.
As ACC play gets going, we have a few shake ups in the Power Rankings. This upcoming weekend includes a big game down in Miami for the Pack. A win there could make some folks forget about that Tennessee game.
(1) Florida State - Took a huge step into the driver's seat. What a great game!
(2) Clemson - Actually played FSU much better than I expected.
(4) Virginia Tech - Handled a seemingly not very good Bowling Green squad.
(5) NC State - #RodneyPurviswasfreed and so was the offense. Maybe we shouldn't be ranked this high, but ranking the league gets pretty difficult from here.
(8) Miami - Hard to argue against 2-0 in the conference.
(3) Georgia Tech - 1-2 in the conference, but with losses to VT & Miami in OT.
(9) North Carolina - One third of their way to bowl eligibility! - oh yea, that's right, sorry guys. Hey look on the bright side, Fedora already has more wins than the mighty Butch, right??
(6) Virginia - I thought Virginia would be a surprize team this season. They still may play the spoiler, but shouldn't have beaten Penn State, and got thumped by #17 TCU.
(7) Wake Forest - Beat UNC, but were just able to outlast Army this week and Liberty in week one.
(12) Maryland - Will we face the Maryland team that lost to UCONN and beat William & Mary by 1, or the team that stayed close to #8 West Virginia?
(10) Duke - Close at halftime with a winless Memphis team, but pulled away in the second half. Probably would have been a better basketball game.
(11) Boston College - Enjoy the bye week. Clemson, @ Army, and @ FSU are the next three. Could be a very long three weeks.
(X) indicates previous ranking. As always, I welcome your feedback and thoughts. Go PACK!
