David Amerson and Earl Wolff worked out with the rest of the defensive backs at the NFL Combine on Tuesday, and the results were pretty good. Amerson ran a much faster 40 than I would have guessed, and Wolff showed good speed as well.
NC State's Earl Wolff and David Amerson were both timed OFFICIALLY at 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Terrific times for the Wolfpack duo.

Earl Wolff had the best broad jump (11'2''), second-best 40-yard dash (4.44), and fourth-best vertical jump (39.0) among all safeties.

Wolff impressed scouts during East-West Shrine Game practices and also picked off a pass during the game, and hopefully that combined with his performance today helped him move into definitely-will-be-drafted territory. I had a feeling he'd start to move up draft boards once he started working out for folks, or rather I really really hoped he would. Looks like that's happening.
Amerson's 40 time should help calm some fears about him, but he still isn't ranked among NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock's top five cornerbacks (or safeties).
